Hi, and welcome to Cotton Moon.

Cotton Moon, located at 9 East Street, Blandford Forum, Dorset is a 'colourful explosion' all packed into a beamed 1750's shop, full of all your sewing, knitting and craft needs.

We stock Fabric, Wool, Ribbon, Buttons, Haberdashery, Sewing/Craft Books, Cross-Stitch kits, Gifts, Handmade babies and children's clothing and accessories...the list is never ending.

Cotton Moon was born from a love of colourful fabric, and finding a lack of places to buy it from, my husband gave me the go ahead to invest a small sum of money, to purchase my initial stock, and then it was over to me to start the business off.

I initially did Dorchester, Wimborne and Blandford Market with a table of fqs and a few other sewing essentials, and gradually over the weeks, the stock grew, the regular customers grew and so did my confidence in what I was doing. Up at the crack of dawn, I would pack my car and trundle off to the markets for over 2 years until the opportunity arose to take over the upstairs of a shop in Blandford Forum. It took a lot of paint, and sorting before it was ready, but once done this was the first home of Cotton Moon.

Less than a year later (2014) and I had to make a move to a new shop home, and luckily for me, number 9 East Street, had just become available. Out came the paint brushes again, and the fabulous refit of the shop by my husband and my father in law (who is a carpenter) and my bespokely fitted shop was ready to go.

Now in my 10th year at this address, it has grown into a colourful place for my regulars and new costumers to come and indulge, with the fabric selection now being over 500 quality designs, both on bolts and cut as fqs. I also stock dress making fabrics, with a lovely selection of quality tana lawns, jersey fabrics, wool mixes, denims and linens.

I am continually looking for new and exciting things to add to my range, so whenever people call in there’s always something new to see.
